The project involved the demolition of an existing house and the construction of six flats above a semi-basement providing car parking. The site it situated on a sloping site so finished ground levels vary on all elevations. Access for car parking restricted the number and location of columns that could provide support to the deck over.

The structure up to and including the ground floor transfer deck is reinforced concrete including piled foundations and insitu reinforced concrete walls to the perimeter of the building. The superstructure above the transfer slab was formed in load-bearing masonry with precast concrete floors.

  • The roof profile of the building was complex being part pitched and part flat and included part of the upper most story height of the building and was formed using trussed rafters and loose cut timbers.
